More than just a hotel, Muang La Lodge was created by its French-Lao owners to offer a unique experience in the north of Laos and, at the same time, to involve the local village in the daily life of our Lodge: the majority of our team come from the village and the surrounding area, and look forward to welcoming you at our Lodge. Offering an unexpected level of comfort in a remote corner of northern Laos, Muang La Lodge uses its bi-cultural origins to offer an experience rich in tradition and customs. An absolute must for connoisseurs of travel who wish to explore the more remote parts of SE Asia. Driven by the desire to explore the jungle beyond the Mekong & the discover the curious ethnic minorities of Northern Laos, we first offered travellers a tented camp experience, far removed from the well-trodden tourist trails. Our search brought us to the village of Muang La, where we set up camp on the banks of the Nam Pak River. From that moment, we knew we had found the perfect place to create a unique experience and place to stay, lying at a crossroads between Burma, China, Thailand and Vietnam. Our story began and Muang La Lodge was born in 2008, with the help and support of the local community.
